Free Software

These programs were written by me and are given to you "as is". If you want the code for any of these, send me an email. Unless otherwise noted, I will not support them. BE VERY CAREFUL WITH DISKSIGN!

None of the software here is actually commercial grade, so you are getting what you're paying for. The contents will change as I unearth more of my stuff. Some of the programs may not be available for download yet (you'll find out in a hurry). Try again in a few days if the program you want to download is not yet available.

This page is grouped by program language. Programs are listed alphabetically:

Assembler

DiskSign is an old DOS program written in assembler that allows you to place a vertical message into the directory of a floppy disk (don't try this with your hard drive). The text would look something like this (the lines are solid in the program):

___________
| D | | S |
| A | | O |
| L | | F |
| I | | T |
| C | | W |
| O | | A |
| M | | R |
| _ | | E |

LaserPop is a TSR that allows you to send control codes to your printer. It does such things as orientation, spacing, page size, source, number of copies, etc. It also allows you to print envelopes.

Memscan is a TSR that shows the first 640k of memory. It lists the interrupt vector table and you can search memory. Any changes made to memory are reflected immediately. Memory is listed 3 ways: A screen dump, a memory offset: values (fashioned after what you see in the debug screen if you type 'd') and a view of the bits.

Planner is an archaic program that keeps track of your calendar. (I know, why bother when we have proper scheduling software). The only neat thing it does is that it will print a Holiday Count Down list (number of days until each holiday).

Quick Basic

Lotry There are probably a zillion of these kinds of programs out there. This one can randomize the timer based on your birthday. You pick the number of numbers you want picked, the lowest number and the highest number, and the number of picks you want.

Visual Basic

Since I am limited to about 10 meg of space, these programs are executables only and require DLLs that you may not have on your system. You should be able to find them in AOLs download area.

FV is a file version program that will list the versions of your DLLs, EXEs, DRVs, etc in a specified directory or the ones that are currently loaded (16 bit only - still scratching my head over how to determine the DLLs loaded in NT). 16-Bit or 32-Bit.

Planner for Windows is a VB calendar program (incomplete because help isn't available and preview doesn't exactly work), but it is functional (and free). If you have difficulty, send me an e-mail and I will give you a hand. This is a zip file.

PrtScr is a program that will allow you to send a window to the printer.
